Global unions demand progress on UN treaty on corporate accountability

Türkiye: metalworkers’ strike banned again

17 December, 2024<p>Strike actions by Turkish metalworkers at major companies, including GE Grid Solutions, Hitachi Electric, Schneider Electric and Arıtaş, have been brought to a halt following a Presidential decree banning the strikes on the grounds of national security. IndustriALL Global Union and industriAll Europe condemn the ban which affects ten factories in four companies and urge the employers to not honour this&nbsp;attack on democracy and workers&#39; fundamental rights.</p>

Trabajadores metalúrgicos surcoreanos organizan una huelga nacional para defender la democracia

6 December, 2024<p>Las fábricas del sector metalúrgico de Corea del Sur se paralizaron hoy cuando decenas de miles de trabajadores respondieron a una convocatoria de huelga general de dos horas del Sindicato de Trabajadores Metalúrgicos de Corea (KMWU), afiliado a IndustriALL. Las huelgas se producen tras una reunión de emergencia del Comité Ejecutivo Central del sindicato, en la que se instó a los afiliados a hacer huelga durante al menos dos horas por turno los días 5 y 6 de diciembre para exigir la dimisión del presidente Yoon Suk Yeol.</p>

Union busting and layoffs at Swiss-backed e-bus manufacturer in Thailand

Absolute Assembly manufactures e-buses for a programme supported by Switzerland under the Agreement, which is clear that commitments made must be in line with achieving a Just Transition. This means decent jobs with fair working conditions, which is not the case at Absolute Assembly.</p>

IndustriALL Global Union file OECD complaints against fashion brands over labour rights violations in Myanmar

Despite overwhelming evidence of continuous violations of workers&rsquo; rights under Myanmar&rsquo;s military junta, these brands continue to place orders in the country, profiting from the eradication of labour and human rights.</p>
